Fast Company Names Sylvia Acevedo One of the 100 Most Creative People in Business

Sylvia Acevedo

Great news for Girl Scouts! Fast Company has released its list of “The 100 Most Creative People in Business,” and GSUSA CEO Sylvia Acevedo is on it! Sylvia is being recognized “for her vision and creativity, including debuting forward-thinking programming in STEM and the outdoors and critical initiatives such as the G.I.R.L. Agenda, which aims to inspire, prepare, and mobilize girls to lead through civic action; and the Girl Scout Network on LinkedIn, which invites the organization’s more than 50 million alums to connect to enhance their career development.”

“To be included in this group of incredible change-makers is a true honor,” said Sylvia Acevedo. “The modern world advances rapidly, and I am committed to making sure girls have a hand in designing our collective future. At Girl Scouts, we know that girls are America’s great untapped resource, and we’re unleashing their creative potential so that they can lead and succeed in whatever path they choose. No matter what a girl’s interests—technology, music, medicine, finance, civic leadership, the military, entrepreneurship—she can use the skills she builds at Girl Scouts to be a force for good and make a creative and real impact on her community, the country, and the world.”

This recognition is also an incredible honor for our Girl Scout Movement, and a testament to Girl Scouts’ relevance not only to girls and their families but also to the conversations happening across the country about girls and leadership. All of Sylvia’s work at the national level is in service of our mission and our commitment to building the G.I.R.L.s—the go-getters, innovators, risk-takers, and leaders—who will change the world.

Congratulations, Sylvia! And many thanks to all the volunteers, parents, and supporters of our Movement, who are on the ground every day bringing the Girl Scout experience to life and giving girls access to opportunities and activities they can’t get anywhere else.
