Come join the the RARE team (Raptor Advocacy Rehabilitation & Education) at Wickiup Hill Learning Center to learn all about the wild birds in Iowa and much more! The RARE team will bring a live hawk and owl and talk with the groups about adaptations, habitat needs, ID characteristics, problems and concerns they face, status, as well as things you can do to help these species. A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation.

The classes are taught by RARE volunteers with over 30 years combined experience in environmental education, conservation ethics and practices, wildlife management and ecology. A portion of money for this event goes back to The RARE Group to help live animals, aid in the rehabilitation of sick/injured/orphaned wildlife, and scientific collection and salvage.

The presentation by the RARE team will last from 1:30-2:30 pm, and the remainder of the time there will be interactive activities throughout Wickiup. The girls will be able to explore both the inside and outside Wickiup Hill Learning Area.

In addition to this wonderful event, there will also be a custom event fun patch available at an additional fee. Grab your friends and come learn about these beautiful animals! Please contact Erin Frost at the information below with any questions.
