Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois is proud to celebrate a generous gift of $35,000 from the Dubuque Racing Authority.
"These improvements represent a significant investment in the future of Camp Little Cloud," said Nicole Cisne Durbin, CEO of Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois. "We are deeply grateful to DRA for their support in helping us create safe, welcoming, and accessible spaces where girls can build confidence, develop leadership skills, and connect with nature."
The grant will fund the building of five cabins designed to accommodate up to six people each, providing comfortable, simple lodging that preserves the traditional outdoor camp experience while improving quality, safety, and accessibility. Each cabin will be equipped with electricity to support lighting and ceiling fans, increasing comfort and usability for campers and visitors throughout the year. While Girl Scouts will directly benefit from these improvements, the broader community will also gain from investments that make the region a more welcoming and engaging place to live, work, and play.
Camp Little Cloud also welcomes the community to reserve the property for overnights and events! Community members can learn more and make a reservation at www.RusticIowaVenues.com.
