Council Patches

Earn patches designed by Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois. These patches are earned awards that are unique to our council. Girl Scouts can enhance their connection with our council and achieve patches that highlight heroes from the Midwest, enhancing heart health, exploring local caves, and more!

Go Red
This program is a partnership with the American Heart Association and is for girls who love their hearts. As girls work towards earning this patch, they will learn about heart health and making healthy choices, and how to share the message with others. This program is designed for Daisies, Brownies and Juniors.

Living Like Laura
Laura Ingalls Wilder was a teacher, an author and a pioneer. As girls work on this patch, they will learn about history, what it was like to be a girl on the prairie in the 1800’s, and why Laura’s life story is important today. This program is designed for girls of all ages.

Cave Explorer
This patch offers girls the chance to learn about caves and explore those within our council boundaries. Girls will learn about different types of caves, how they are formed and how to be safe while exploring. This program is designed for Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors. Be sure to check the Safety Activity Checkpoints!

Fly like an Eagle
The American Bald Eagle has made an astounding comeback from near extinction and can now be found throughout our council. This program will help girls learn about bald eagles, their history as our Nation’s Symbol of Freedom, and how their presence impacts our local communities. This program is for girls of all ages.

Year of the Career
Love STEM? Maybe you’re a future astronaut! Have a passion for helping animals? Becoming a veterinarian may be the job for you! Whatever your interests, explore how your skills match a fun career. The Year of the Career patch will help you learn more about a variety of careers and find out how to achieve your goals.

Making the World a Better Place
The Year of Service Community Service Challenge is meant to encourage all girls, troops, service units and families to make a difference in our world by reaching out to those in need.

Honoring Our Veterans
Girl Scouts throughout the States of Iowa and Illinois have always shown their appreciation to our Military and Veterans that serve to protect our freedom. Girls will reach out, connect and discover ways to honor our Veterans.
