5 important things to know about Volunteer Awards

2022 Web Feature 530x220 - 23

Our program's impact is made possible by passionate community members who dedicate their time and resources to building girls of courage, confidence, and character. Take a few minutes to let a volunteer know how valued they are by nominating them for one of our Volunteer Awards!

Here are 5 important things to know about Volunteer Awards this year:

1. Nominations are a great way to thank and recognize the volunteers in your community.
Troop leaders and volunteers give their time, talents, and support to Girl Scouts. Celebrate all that they do by submitting a nomination.

2. The Rising Star and Sustained Service awards are two new awards we are excited to share this year.
There are many awards available for volunteers to receive. Visit the Volunteer Awards page on our website to learn more about the requirements.

3. Nominating volunteers is simple with our new and improved application process.
Start by reading up on award requirements, then gather your letter(s) of endorsement. Visit the Volunteer Awards page on our website to find the nomination link. Once you fill out the form and cut and paste your endorsement letter(s) into the provided space, and hit submit to complete your nomination.

4. Volunteer Award nominations are due annually on February 1st.

5. Volunteers who receive awards will be honored on April 15th at Journey the World in Iowa City, Iowa.
Nominations that come in after February 1st will be honored in 2024.
