Volunteering with your grandchild's troop is a great way to stay active, help her reach her goals in a fun and supportive environment, and support her as she learns and grows (while also learning a thing or two yourself!)
Just look at what Ruth A., a Girl Scout troop leader, has to say about her experience volunteering with her granddaughter's troop:
"I volunteer wtih my granddaughter, Evalee’s troop. I was her mother, Sara’s troop leader and I wanted to make sure she expanded her horizons through Girl Scouts like her mom did. I love getting to know her friends who treat me as their grandmother. Also, it is such a learning experience for me.
My favorite part about being a leader is watching the girls grow up and try out the lessons learned through Girl Scouts in their everyday life."
Whether you are helping out at a troop meeting, sharing your skills, or leading a troop, there's so many ways to get involved and support your grandchild's Girl Scout experience.
