Online Support for Leaders

When you volunteer with Girl Scouts, you’ll uncover new strengths and build on them. And we’re here to help you shine.

Check out these online resources and training courses that you can access whenever, wherever to make the most of your volunteer experience.

New Leaders -- Start Here

New Troop volunteers will have a few steps to take first before your Troop begins to meet. We are a trusted program because of our safety standards and require all volunteers to pass a background check before beginning to meet with girls.

  1. If you have not already, register as a member of Girl Scouts.
  2. Complete the background check form that you will receive by email from Verified Volunteers.

After your background check process is completed and you’re approved to serve as a volunteer, you’ll receive an email confirmation prompting you to log in to My GS, your Girl Scout member community, for the first time. My GS allows you to manage your Troop online, use our troop planning resource called the Volunteer Toolkit and get the training you need as a new leader.

After logging in to My GS, go to My Account, then on the left side panel you will see the option for entering into our training portal called gsLearn. For more information about using gsLearn check out our gsLearn Quick Start Guide.

Look for your required New Leader Training course on your dashboard or by searching under content 514 - New Leader Training.  There are additional trainings to view as well.

Also continue to review the content from our publication New Leader’s Guide to Success.
