Follow the next steps to become a troop leader:
The majority of volunteer training can be found online through My GS in the gsLearn platform. gsLearn is Girl Scouts’ official online and on demand training platform. Confident leaders are prepared leaders, and these online learnings will give you all the info you need to be a great troop leader.
Each troop needs to have an adult member with CPR and First Aid certification to host an overnight event or trip. Throughout the year, courses are offered for all volunteers to receive Red Cross certification through a blended learning, combining an online learning course and an in-person session.
When you're confident, your troop is confident! Build your outdoor skills through outdoor training with skilled instructors and staff. Each spring, Courage, Confidence, and Campfires invites volunteers to Camp Liberty to develop their outdoor skills. Volunteers can come with all different comfort levels and join specialized tracks to build their comfort levels in the outdoors. Also look for instructor certification courses throughout the year for archery, zip line, high ropes, kayaking, and more.
