Because of continuous pandemic-related issues, Girl Scouts
of the USA has made the difficult decision to postpone all
Destinations scheduled for summer 2021. Our highest
priority is safety, and at this time, we agree that the best course
of action is to delay these in-person programs.
As you know, Destinations are a unique kind of Girl Scout
travel—with girls flying to participate from many different states and
even countries, and many months are necessary to apply and prepare,
which COVID-19 has made impossible. With pandemic-related issues
expected to continue well into 2021, we want to feel certain that
travel and participation will be safe for all Girl Scouts before
resuming Destinations.
We recognize that this news is disappointing. Please know that this
hard decision was made with girls’ safety as our top priority.
However, you can begin applying for 2022 Destinations if you would
like to lock in your place for one of the amazing opportunities. The
regular application period will open on May 21, 2021, and there should
be even more Destinations available.
