Daisies, Brownies and Juniors: Learn about Frank Lloyd Wright's concept of "organic architecture" by connecting geometric design principles with patterns found in the natural world all while exploring the Walter House at Cedar Rock.
- Daisies: Scouts participate in a shape scavenger hunt, identifying geometric shapes and patterns in both the natural landscape and the Walter House. They also create nature-inspired "stained glass" window art.
- Brownies: Focuses on data collection and observation. Activities include tallying and graphing natural objects, exploring tessellations using the house's concrete floor grids, and conducting bird monitoring.
- Juniors: Explores advanced mathematical concepts including circular symmetry, fractals, and the Fibonacci sequence. Scouts build mandalas at the Council Fire and analyze architectural cantilevered rooflines as tree-canopy fractals.
- All participants will earn and receive their Math in Nature 1 badges
***Troops must follow ratio requirements. Individual Girl Scouts need to attend with a caregiver.***
