Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois Gold Award Girl Scout Scholarship

Since 1912, Girl Scouts have been making meaningful, sustainable change in their communities and around the world. The Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest honor a Girl Scout can earn, acknowledges the power behind each recipient’s dedication to not only empowering and bettering herself, but also to making the world a better place for others. The Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois Gold Award Scholarship is awarded to one Gold Award Girl Scout annually who is a current Ambassador Girl Scout and shows a commitment to the Girl Scout Promise and Law.

Application and final Gold Award Report must be submitted by the deadline of February 1.
All applicants will be contacted to complete an interview in February-early March.
The recipient will be acknowledged at the annual Honoring Excellence ceremony in April.

Congratulations on becoming a Gold Award Girl Scout! You have created lasting change in the world while earning the highest award in Girl Scouting.

Now that you’ve earned a Gold Award, did you know that you can apply for a national scholarship for your post-secondary education? The GSUSA Gold Award Scholarship recognizes and provides financial support to one Gold Award Girl Scout per council.

Scholarship recipients must have completed Gold Award projects that demonstrate extraordinary leadership, measurable and sustainable impact, and address an issue of national and/or global significance. Scout of the Year Scholarship toggle arrow

The Scout of the Year program provides members of the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts who display standout citizenship, patriotism, and love of country with the opportunity to be rewarded with college scholarships of up to $5,000.

Applications are due annually by March 1.

Catherine McAuley Scholarship toggle arrow

Catherine McAuley founded the Sisters of Mercy in 1831 to help provide education to families and children in need. Her legacy continues with the Catherine McAuley Scholarship. It provides free tuition to Iowa students whose family income is $45,000 or less annually. These scholarships are renewable for up to four years.

The Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes toggle arrow

The Barron Prize honors 25 outstanding young leaders ages 8 to 18 who have made a significant positive difference to people and our planet. The top 10 winners each receive a $5,000 cash award to support their service work or higher education. The primary goal of the prize is to shine the spotlight on these amazing young people so that their stories will inspire others.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Davenport Alumnae Chapter Scholarship toggle arrow

This scholarship program encourages students of color to achieve academic excellence through higher education. The chapter awards scholarships to students of color who are graduating seniors, or who are currently enrolled in a higher education institution.
