Big Grove Brewery & Taproom • Iowa City and the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois are joining together to host a special fundraiser combining the worlds of Girl Scout Cookies and craft beer!
At Cookies and Flights, guests can look forward to cookie and beer pairings, guidance from Big Grove cellarwoman Ophelia Flores, a silent auction, games, a commemorative placemat, and a special gift from the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois. Tickets are $45 each and include heavy appetizers, five 7oz beers, cookies to accompany each beer pairings, and gratuity.
This event is an exciting opportunity to gather with friends, spread the word on the amazing work Girl Scouts are doing in the community, and raise funds to continue growing the Girl Scout Movement. Proceeds from ticket prices will be donated to the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois.
About Ophelia Flores: Ophelia Flores is a Cellarwoman at Big Grove Brewery. Originally from the Northside of Chicago, Ophelia has worked with Big Grove for over 5 years in a multitude of positions. Having graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Graphic Design and a minor in Anthropology she often says, “I came for the school and stayed for the beer”. Ophelia is interested in the history of beer and how that ties into the experience of its drinkers. When she’s not working she enjoys spending time with her husband and her Great Dane Simcoe especially if that time includes a beer!
