Girl Scouts welcomed a gift of $18,750 from United Way of Dubuque Area Tri-States to support Girl Scouts in the Greater Dubuque Region.
“The United Way of Dubuque Area Tri-States is such an essential partner to Girl Scouts! Our entire Movement is grateful for their support,” says Diane Nelson, CEO of Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois. “Local Girl Scouts have a lot of educational and exciting experiences to build their potential. From camping at the recently renovated Camp Little Cloud to leading service projects to address community needs to earning a variety of badges through new experiences, there is so much opportunity for Girl Scouts. Because of funding partners like the United Way and dedicated volunteers in the region, our program can offer dynamic opportunities for local girls to build a strong foundation.”
To create kind, confident, and competent leaders, the Girl Scout program centers around the outdoors, STEM, life skills, and entrepreneurship. Activities for Girl Scouts are fun and research-backed, with each badge, field trip, and event building independence, creativity, and resilience.
